How to Put Commas in the Hindi Numbers and Western System of Numbers
You would have also noticed that after 100, people start putting commas between digits. Once again, the Indian system and the western system have a bit of difference because of the names that we ascribe to various numbers.
So, here is the example:
- 1000 is written as 1,000 in both Indian and Western number systems.
- 10000 is written as 10,000 in both Indian and Western number systems
- However, 100000 is written as 1,00,000 in the Indian system while 100,000 in the Western system. To remember, keep in mind that the Western number system puts a comma after three places, which Indian number system puts the first comma (from the right side) after three places but all other commas after two places.
- 1000000 is written as 10,00,000 in the Indian method while 1,000,000 in the Western system.
Similarly, you can keep extrapolating these numbers and try yourself where to put the commas.
